Best Practices for Reach MSMs of Color

Men who have sex with men (MSM) represent a priority population for federal, state and non-profit organizations looking to address some our country’s most pressing health issues. MSMs of color face particular socioeconomic challenges that increase their risk and have been recognized by the CDC as a population that is disproportionately affected by health issues, particularly related to sexual health. Despite this, reaching young MSMs of color with traditional health care messages is a daunting task.

We have had the pleasure of working with multiple clients including AltaMed and Desert AIDS Project on solving this exact problem and want to share what we learned, in the hopes that you can reach more MSMs of color with your programs. Further, our best practices can be applied to other priority populations.
