Award winning director, James Keach, best known for films "Walk the Line" and "The Stars Fell on Henrietta," documents music legend Glen Campbell as he sets out on his 2011 "Goodbye Tour."
The musician, recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, took his family on a spectacular 151 sold out shows, rather than hanging up his guitar. The film documents this amazing journey as Glen and his family attempt to navigate the wildly unpredictable nature of his disease using love, laughter, and music as their medicine of choice.
Due to intense social stigma regarding Alzheimer's, making it difficult for those suffering to come forward, our target with the campaign was awareness and education. Creating a custom website was the first step to generate interest in the film while building awareness and supporting media outreach for the national theater tour and encouraging capture of new screen leads. These efforts expanded to support our booking and logistics for a nationwide theatrical release. To further amplify our reach, we created a National Event Screening Program featuring over 500 screenings for non-profit organizations. Additionally, our grassroots outreach to hundreds of memory care organizations provided a conduit to leading Alzheimer’s groups including Alzheimer’s Association, Leading Age, Volunteers of America, Mayo Clinic, and AARP.
The overall campaign led to an Academy Award Nomination and highest rated film in CNN’s network history with over 2.76 million viewers.
